Id like to open a specific topic for it, since the subject its floating around the table.

What do you guys think should be a fair price for this new cash shop unlock?

I don't have a creditcard so I can't buy them anyway. Would love to see that they can be bought with in-game money, but I don't think that'll happen.

I don't intend to ever buy it, but the price is ridiculous. I mean seriously it's not even new like say a costume or has proper function like a storage pain or character slot.

Not intending to buy + this would mean a major "lol, suckers" in the face of all the people that already bought them

No.

Compared to what they charge for campaigns, the price seems high. But compared to what a costume costs, the price feels like a bargain to me. In fact, mercs are like a costume+ purchase. I get to create my very own custumed hero that I can bring along on my adventure.

I wish inventory panes cost less. That's the mispriced store item. Why pay $10 for a single pane when I can pay $10 for a mule slot with over twice the storage? A storage pane just isn't worth it unless I had max player slots bought already.

They're not reducing the price and screwing all the people who bought them in the first few days. Why do people even ask for these things?

I guess somewhere at 25$ will be a fair price for 8 slots, but I'm not planning on buying them for the moment anyway.

They'll go on sale eventually, will probably get them then just for the novelty.

They wont reduce the price, but they may have a deal like 25-50% off sometime in the near future (Birthday perhaps?).
I think the price is ridiculous though, I will not buy them until they go on sale, and it would probably have to be 50% off for me to buy.

I chose "I don't care/ I'm not buying it anyway." which happens to be the one that wins with the highest votes at this point. Why? Because it's a waste of money. All you're getting is a hero that looks like you and shares your abilities. While I can see where it could be useful from a [convenience] point of view, I'll be sticking with my free heroes. After all, they came with the game and you have to earn them, like an adventure game should be. Not "buy x for IRL cash and be good at the game". Sad that MMO's have to steer to the RMT trend, but hey... any way to make money and get support from your fellow customers yeah?

Paying $10 for 1 or $45 for 8 is pretty much bending over and letting them give it to you without lube.

Half the current price and maybe giving us a freebie for the birthday event in April would have been fair. That's obviously not going to happen, so I'll wait for a 50-75% off sale before I even consider purchasing them. I'm not going to hold my breath since it will likely be a year or two before they go on sale and even then it will more than likely be 25% at most.

$2 per Merc, and a way to achieve them through ingame rewards.

$45...what were they thinking?

I put down the 4th option, because they are WAY WAY too expensive to come down to where they are worth it for me.

Really, their price should be in proportion to what content costs.

For $45 I can get Portal 2, Mass Effect 3 shortly after it comes out, or really any ENTIRE NEW GAME, not a miniscule cosmetic difference. When they price out 99% of players, they are also leaving good money behind. It's a business model that makes no sense, but whatever, it's no skin off my back.
